Sales Tax - An Ongoing Debate
I'm a seller and a shopper. Like all shoppers, I love to get a "good deal," saving a bit of money on things that I buy. This is especially true since I am a senior citizen on a fixed income. What a nice project with the stones! They remind me of pysanki (the Ukranian Easter Eggs)I've been busy with craft shows, drying tents after a wet break-down and trying to find time for dyeing yarn and making more candles. Hope everyone is having a productive summer.

I made almost the same comment on a Facebook group that was discussing this sales tax issue. Received the response that since it's now up to congress to work out a plan that we should write to our congressmen. It would be so much easier to know what tax to charge, and the sale does actually "take place" in our residence, not where it is delivered to.

Wow, so glad to hear from you and that it wasn't malignant! That must have been very scary for both you and your husband. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
I haven't been doing much of interest, filled a candle order, organizing of show lists for the season, and trying to finish some knitting, spinning, and labeling. It's spring in some parts of Mi but we still have snow on most of our lawn, with spots of ice on the driveway and path! I'm anxious to put away boots and heavy coats, but won't be for a while!

I haven't been doing much to post about, just knitting and more knitting...Need to finish booking this year's shows.

Monika, sorry to hear about your fall, but glad you didn't break any bones. Do you still have shows scheduled?
I've been so busy that I've taken the time to read when someone posts, but rarely have I taken the time to respond except in my mind
Between the two classes I taught and then the two day show my last one was what I consider a huge success 
. The high point for me was meeting (and bunking with) the nicest young lady (she took both of my classes but was already quite knowledgable about fiber and the biggest help when she volunteered to help me set up and then worked the booth with me on the first day! She was a natural at customer service and helped people while I was checking out others. The age of some of my grandsons, we still had much in common to discuss in the evenings. We were staying in bunk houses at the camp where the show was held, so no TV or radio, just bunks, bath, and heat! Friday she bought a blending board so we played with that when we were't knitting and crocheting.
Almost done with a custom candle order, pies to make for Thanksgiving, then I can continue with my Christmas knitting. And I need to start posting on my blog again, it's been months! Looking forward to getting caught up at home before next year's schedule hits again.

Wishing you many sales at your show Monika. I'm sure you'll find Square easy to use.
I'm getting ready for my last show of the season on the following weekend, having the challenge of moving all the necessities from the trailer to my suburban since I don't want to haul the trailer 200 miles with possible snow. we've already had about 5" which is now melting.

Narrina, sorry to hear about your work situation, stay strong!
Monika, I agree with Sandi about the use of Square for credit cards . It works fine as long as your show is in an area where you have a cell signal or wi-fi And they do have a good support team if you need help figuring it all out.

Sandi, good luck on your first show in your new locale! I'm sure it will be a fun time, getting acquainted with the local vendors and shoppers.
I'm prepping for our last show of the season which is preceded by a 3-day workshop/retreat (which I've signed up to teach a couple of classes) Shows are fun, but I'm looking forward to my "down time" to get better organized and stocked for next year too. and maybe get a better on-line business going. Mean-while I do have some custom candles to make for Nov. delivery so my season is stretching a little more.

Larissa, the bathrooms were warmer(and clean) than my unheated utility trailer (which is what I sleep in since I let my son sleep in the car) The vendor buildings had heat but weren't open that time of morning! I had taken a space heater to use in the trailer only to discover that the electric in the space I had parked only had the round camper trailer plug ins 
...I need to buy an adaptor before next year! We semi-tricked out our trailer by getting a twin size mattress set which we tip up against a wall when we load our totes and grids, then drop down for sleeping (a big up-grade from the air mattress that always went flat about 4 a.m. 
) The next thing we want to add is a small window in the side door which will beat leaving that door ajar for ventilation A regular camper trailer is nice but wouldn't be practical for the amount of "stuff" we haul to display.
