I would say just start over and mix up the names. Is everybody up for another round?

Yup!

Round 2 Archive / Re: Many Apologies To All

I know I have a very minute capacity for this sort of thing, so I'm sorry I cannot volunteer. Though if it keeps going, I'll keep tweeting — since week one I've tweeted about one featured member every day (usually a link to a specific item in their shop) plus a weekly shout out to all 7. I'm happy to continue doing that!

Take care of yourself! Health first is right!

Your first response was fine... I just felt concerned that anyone took my comment as a wish to do something. I'm a "newbie" here. Didn't want any toes to feel stepped on. Was just pointing out something amusing. Well, amusing to me, anyway.

Thanks, Andrew.

Andrew, I agree. I surely didn't mean to start anything, and feel badly now I said anything it all. It mostly struck me as funny to see those tweets mixed in and the one in particular that I listed the link to. I didn't think that it would cause any movement to change. It doesn't bother me. My "sadly" was a turn-of-phrase.

If you google HAF you come up with a whole bunch of crap. The way I look at is just like our personal site we use MBOI but there is some person in Africa and some aids thing. So be it I'm not changing MBOI because that is who we are.

Same thing with HAF we used HAF because it was a logical shortening for our site. But there are a ton of other sites or companies that use that as well. I don't know if your going to be able to get away from it. My thoughts are that the larger we become over time and the more we use the #HAF tag the more relevant it will be.

The tag #ETSY was meaningless 6 years ago or so. Now it has meaning.
I think you can say that about any tag.
Regardless those are my feelings. I'm going to continue to use the tags I've been using #HAF #HAFteam #HAFshop #HAFguild
Like I said keep using them and they will override the others.
My 2 cents

Oh — I'm not here in any official capacity, this decision has to be made by lovely7designs or someone else in charge! I was just making a note of it, and a suggestion. I really have say whatsoever....

#HAFring ? Or is that advertising the covert operations of the ring?
Looks like there's no one else using that tag. Sounds good to me.

Edit - I went ahead and tweeted mine using #HAFring today.

It means "high as f*&k" — stoned. Or, a lot of people (or one person with many accounts) advertising High Air Flow computer cases (e.g., Cooler Master HAF 932 High Air Flow ATX Full Tower Case).

Sadly, we're getting mixed in with the other #HAF crowd, who now seem to be reveling in our "ignorance":

Hi -- I'm really glad to be part of this weeks featured members -- thank you. When I signed up, my shop was on vacation, but it is open again, so if it's not too late, and you think of it, I'd love to have my shop promoted (rather than my blog). Thanks! I'll be tweeting too!

for: @cmaille
please promote:
http://cmaille.etsy.com

Thank you!

I'd like to be in the Ring.

@cmaille

If it happens before the 5th of September, I'd like to promote my Shadowbox and giveaway on EtsyStalker:
http://etsystalker.com/?page_id=11533

My shop is on vacation at the moment, so my next choice (if after 9/5) would be my blog:

Thanks!

This month on EtsyStalker.com, Crescent Maille is offering two giveaways: A Captured Spiral Necklace (or a $40 gift certificate to my Etsy shop) and a $25 gift certificate to my Etsy shop. All you have to do to enter is visit the Crescent Maille "Shadowbox" page and leave a comment. You can comment up to once a day to increase your odds. The winners will be chosen at random on May 3rd. Full details are on the page. Oh, and it doesn't hurt that the shadowbox with the most comments gets to participate for free the following month... :)

I've been out of town and just got back to looking to the site and see almost all photos gone (including mine), with the exception of a "private label" kit developed by one woman along w/ Urban Maille -- and they're aware. I did get a reply to my cease & desist e-mail:

"there seems to be a mistake i do not have nobodys jewelry on my web site;the only work i have is my work.i make my designs from maagzines and  chain maille books thats what i do i choose designs that i can make and sell.it s. not your work.i look at the picture than i make itmy own.again my site is under construction at this time.i will takemy workoffand make some new things.belive me i am to old for children games and i am old enough  to know better.(but i do amire your work)and its the best onthe web?sorry if this caused to problems.it will not happen again .i just want to do my work and sell it and mind my bussiness."

>> Well, my earrings & bracelet are not kits nor in magazines or books, so I can't see how that applies.

Anyway, thanks for all the help.

So what do you think is the best way to prevent image thievery like this?  Is watermarking your photo images the answer to this continual problem?

I wonder what this persons plans were, if they were to ever have someone contact them about one of the pieces they are trying to sell.  3rd party seller maybe~ purchase it from the artist but mark it up to make a middle man profit?  There is no way they could duplicate the work they have listed.

I know I've never sold to this person, plus she's advertising the bracelet as a choker. Yeah, it would choke one, alright.

Many of the images are taken from here:

http://www.pkjewelry4u.com/index.html

And yet that site too seems potentially sketchy, selling kits of The Alchemist's Star's "Sharone's Flowers" that she developed w/ Urban Maille (which she's now aware of).
