I am looking for a treadle also but I might try to find the Singer that converts to a treadle so I can use all of the cams and fancy stitches and have reverse and buttonholer etc.

I just purchased five vintage machines over the past three weeks and I like hunting for them and finding one buried in the back of a junk store and when you open the table..WOW.
I am currently stripping the Pfaff of its paint so I can repaint it and hubby and I are having fun fixing the cabinets and cleaning the machines and trying to figure out how they work. I like the 50's/60's electrical machines especially the White's and the Morse's with all of the buttons and dials. Here are the two I purchased yesterday.
Any other vintage sewing machine peeps here?

I just made all of the round rings oval. They are holding up great now. Amazing how much of a difference with the opening at the center of one side. LOL

Thanks John, I appreciate the answers. I use anything from flea market finds, thrift stores, Joanns fabrics and Michaels 40 % off findings for these bracelets, so it helps keep these costume jewelry prices lower. I always add in 15-20.00 for my time.

I am just going to have to get more selective and check all the jump rings before I purchase them or open a package right after I walk out of the store and if they are dead soft, or brittle take them right back in...

I do make all of my own silver, gold, copper and red brass rings but they go into my higher end jewelry.
Thank you so much for the replies. I may just try using oval rings and see how that goes. I do not like the look of doubling up with the jump rings but I may have to do that.

On bracelets with many jump rings of different materials such as copper, brass, silver plate, etc. do you solder them or just make sure to buy hard findings so they do not pull apart so easily? or do you do something else?

I do not want to sell a bracelet and have the charms and dangles pull off easily, and after wearing one or two and giving them a test run hat is what is happening, but I don't want to add the time /cost for soldering each and every ring because I use a lot of them.

What do you do? Thanks for any help

My favorite season is winter. I love goosebumps, snuggling, long hot showers, cold breezes, fog, rain, Christmas, and I can torch ( make glass beads) much more comfortably. I live where 100 degree days are normal for four months out of the year all in a row. Bleh...
So yeah, come on winter!!!

I also agree with most of the comments here. I just finally listed some items after playing around in the forums for several months first just to see how friendly the natives were...LOL If it takes two years then thats what it takes, hopefully I can make it happen sooner than that.

Loved the very friendly and supportive group of people. That alone is worth it's weight in gold to me. I will stay here because of the owners who stay right in the thick of it, the members, the low cost, but for me when someone asks me if I am online I love knowing I am directing them to a site that I am NOT ashamed of with no vulgarities, no adult material etc.
This site is in line with my core values, beliefs, ethics and morals. This is a very rare animal on the internet nowadays.
This is the main reason I will be staying here. It is a nice warm pleasant place to visit. I am comfortable here.

Thanks Debbie, I think they will start showing up on Etsy, and here because I did share all over the web and a few other artists have been making them. But they are very time consuming and pricey if the crafter includes their time and actually uses vintage tins instead of new ones. A lot of people don't do that I 'am afraid.

Yep, I do know, some have sold for 2500.00 as atomic retro, some you can't give away. I have been watching ebay and northern California Craigslist and some atomic sites just to see what is happening with them.

I have major sticker shock right now. Yesterday we decided we had to redo our kitchen. The original GE 9 foot stainless counter (circa 1950) had to go! I have been cooking on a 2 burner hot plate for 2 years, no dishwasher for the past 25 years, no oven the past two years. Yesterday I was down to 1 burner left on the hot plate and I said ENOUGH!!
Hubby said great, let's do it. So off we went to get a new free standing range and portable dishwasher to use while we redo the kitchen. We know it is going to take us months, financially and time wise so we bought a laundry sink in cabinet to set up temporarily as our sink.
We don't know if we can save the hardwood floors. The electrically has to be completely redone. Oh gosh, I am just kinda numb.
I decided to go ahead and get the stainless double oven range I wanted...$$$ It will be the focal point of the kitchen. It is blue inside!! It is a convection with all kinds of doodads and a smooth top. The dishwasher is apt. sized as we live alone and have a very small kitchen so it will fit us and our home perfectly again $$$
Thank goodness we put all of the stuff on charge cards. We pay it off in 12 months and it is interest free. We are excited and tired all ready.
Anyone else currently redoing their kitchen and making do in a temporary kitchen set up in the living room like we are? Hubby is 61 and I am 59 and we are just SLOW as molasses. But we are very excited to make our new kitchen!
