(SOLVED) Having Trouble Changing Primary Picture for Item

I have existing items listed.  I am trying to change the primary image.  The primary image will not be replaced with my new primary image.


My workflow:
I click through to the manage my products screen
I select the modify icon (gear)
I click thru to the image dialog
I choose a new image for the primary image
I click thru the remainder of the screens
I notice that on the last click that I DO NOT get the Product is Posted alert, It takes me to an Add new product screen and lands at the dialog for product message, etc. 


When I check my store and click thru to the product that should be modified, the modification has not taken effect.

Not being tech support, I can't see what's happening on your screens, but what web browser are you using?

Hello, I am using Safari 6.0.2 and a Mac running Lion.


I have spent time with chat support but no solution to problem.


HELP!

Crud, I'm on a PC and know very little about Macs.  I use Chrome.  Chrome works on a Mac, right?  Do you have it or can you download it?  Or Firefox!  I know Firefox works on a Mac 'cause my husband switches between that & Safari on his.  It seems like Chrome and Firefox work best with the shop.

In my limited knowledge/experience, it almost sounds like a cookies/cache issue.  I'm wondering if you open up a different browser and view your shop, would the changes bet there & maybe you're just not seeing them because your browser somehow cached the old file.

I also tried changing all the images, renaming the images, etc.   I have lost the ability to modify the mages in a listing. I can modify the description, tags, etc. but not the pix.

We've tried to clear cookies, re-upload ALL the photos - I feel bad I couldn't help, but I suggested everything I knew

I have logged out and cleared cache and cookies, rebooted. All the above. =)


I'll try the alt browser tricks and report back.

I just asked Eric who doesn't have a HAF shop, but who is a computer person for a living and also a Mac guy.  He said the best bet is to try Chrome or Firefox.

His description of the 4 big browsers:

IE is Microsoft, so it's best with ActiveX, which is a Microsoft program, but isn't great with anything else.

Firefox is based off the old Netscape, and works with most everything.

Chrome is based off the old Netscape, so it's almost as good as Firefox, but Google did modify it a bit for speed, so those modifications will mess with some things here & there.

Safari is by far the fastest browser for the Mac, and also excellent, but Apple did modify some things with it, making it not work properly with every site.

Personally, I always have my Reef Botanicals account open in Chrome, which I use as my primary browser, and Fabric of my Mind open in Firefox, which is my secondary.

It's been resolved  ;)  It was how the new image was saved

OK, problem solved.

 "I found the problem.  When I bulk added the watermarks to the image files, the files were saved without a.jpg extension.  Your system has to see that extension to successfully complete the transaction.  I tested a new file and I got the green completed successfully alert AND the image is correct in the store.  Yeah!"
