Tip:
If you want color on copper one of the ways you can get it is to anneal very well the metal and dip it into BOILING (boiling, not hot) water. You'll get some amazing shades of red. You can also use color pencils, oil pastel etc. on an annealed / oxidized surface.

That is really cool, and here I have been dying my metal with alcohol inks.  Lovely pieces.
