"Multi-Crafting"
« on: April 25, 2009, 08:42:02 PM »
I dabble in a few different areas of crafting, I'm doing what I love. I crochet (bath sets, barefoot sandals, Eco-Sachet & Eco Scrubbies), create custom wedding & stock quilted photo albums, sew, decopauge, etc.

I just like to be creative! I take pride in the items I create, providing quality- because to me it's personal when someone purchases one of your goods; kind of like a link back to you & your character as a person. Plus, I want someone to like it because I made it (that's my selfish reason).

*Unusual terms: "Eco-Scrubbies" (made from recycled plastic bags) & Eco-Sachet (made from yarn created of 100% post-consumer plastic bottles, plus: refillable & reusable)

ooh cute I love crochet, is that last pic made with plastic bags? I've been wanting to crochet a bag out or that stuff but don't know how it is to work with.

Thanks both of you for the warm welcome! Yeah, that is plastic bags- not too hard to work with, though cutting the bags to create waht I endearingly call: "plarn" is the not so fun part of the experience, I use a slip-knot method in order to create a double-ply plastic strand.  It's definetly different, the scrubbies work great in kitchens/bathrooms/& if you keep a couple in the trunk of your car, they take bugs off windshields, mirrors, & headllamps, they wont scratch the glass! And of course- it's a small way of recycling them.

I like your crafts! I can't crochet, I've tried. It doesn't like me.
