I've been watching this thread and honestly it is pretty much par for the coarse. Almost everywhere it is the same. 10% of the people do 100% of the work, it really is the same mentality in my mind. I've learned not to let it drive me too crazy, but it still does. Unfortunately you can not change peoples mentality so I try to lead by example.
It is sort of a double edge sword for me, I promote and promote and promote others, and every now and then it is nice to see someone promoting themselves, much less promote others.
I don't know how many of our vendors despise Etsy, but yet they'll promote their etsy listings and not their HAF listings. Makes no sense, we have a strong core of members here, the core is what keeps this place going. With out the core, and you know who you are, we would struggle big time. So I'm very grateful for the support we DO get and I keep my eyes on that.
Last night in the chat it looked like we might have gotten a few more people that are ready to dive in and really support this site and help others. So we'll see, I just know that one person that is willing to spend 5 or 10 minutes a day promoting is huge!
Unfortunately this will be the case wherever you go online or off, so like I said, I try to stay as positive as possible and lead by example.
You are right Andrew always a few that will work hard, and many that just coast along with excuses. I have seen it in church,PTO,Girl Scouts, Boards, and group of people.
The article on the front page here this morning about social media was great, educate, educate, educate! I am always learning new stuff, never too old to learn new ways:)
We love you Andrew for all your hard work:)
