Oh god, if that was the case, I'd just wear it big!

This one told me something was wrong, because I was supposed to start & end the row on knit (or purl on the other side) and instead the way the numbers worked out, the rows that started in knit were ending in purl & vice versa.  I'm glad I made a mistake by the right number of rows so I'd realize!  I just couldn't figure out what was happening for a bit & then it hit me like a ton of bricks.

oh I hate having to rip out of a knitted project.  ripping out some rows of crochet is no big deal....I keep telling myself I should start using cheater lines, but I usually forget.

on completion of every 5th, 8th, 10th (whichever you choose) knitted or right side row, take a needle and thread of contrasting color, and slip that thread thru the loops on the needle.  then if you ever need to rip out, you can rip out to that thread (or cheater line) and it's easy to put all those loops back on your needle correctly.

I actually had to do that on my shawl.  I reached the end of my body repeats and went on to the edging and realized 2 rows later that I was off by a couple of stitches and had to rip back 300+ stitches over and over again.  :(  Luckily I was able to fix it pretty easily and put in a cheater/lifeline in case I had to do it again, which gratefully I didn't!

Thanks, y'all!  I'm just about 3 rows into the front panel.  I'd be a lot farther, but I had to unravel it FOUR times before realizing I was accidentally casting on 112 stitches instead of 102.  Oops.
ah I hate it when I do that!

I should probably do cheater lines on every row of a knitting project!

Larissa, the back looks great!  I love that blue!

No kidding! I have the worst time counting back and getting things right again when I have to remove rows. Duh! :P

AND the sweater is beautiful! I am not that ambitious.

Oh, hell, I'm more ambitious than this!  At JoAnn's I bought yarn for two more sweaters!

That looks great - I can't believe you only paid $1.00 a skein - I don't knit very well but am slowly learning.

LOL.  sometimes you just can't help but buy more yarn!  I finally sorted thru all the boxes and bags of yarn I inherited and now have 3 sweater shelves and 4 shoe shelves (those plastic things you hang in your closets) plus a good size tote, and yet yesterday, at Michaels, I still bought more yarn.  BUT IT WAS ON SALE!
 :o

we need a picture of your finished sweater!!!!

As soon as I finish it.  I kind of set it aside while busy doing other stuff.  I've got it right here now while I watch the 2 season premier episodes of Project Runway I DVRed.
