Finally! Lavender Soap
« on: June 19, 2012, 10:19:36 PM »
I've had Lavender Soap almost since the beginning, but never got a good photo of it 'til now.  So it was available in the stand alone shop, but not the HAFshop.  It's finally here!

It's an awesome lathery soap with real lavender buds in it for texture & interest, and I make it with strong chamomile tea instead of water, for the benefits of chamomile.  Awesome stuff.

Well, thanks!  Eric gets a bigger head every time we hear that.  I'm the one who does it, but he designed it.

It's a nice joint effort!

I used to make soap, and made some lavender soap once, it turned  a very funny color!  Not sure what I did wrong, but it was very strange!   That was years before I started selling online, maybe I should have kept making soap! I've always made candles, but thought they are so heavy, nobody will pay for shipping!!hahahahahaha
Seems like candles and soaps do fairly well.

I wonder what you did to the color; I'd love to know now.

The weight of wax made making candles prohibitive for us for a while because it was so heavy to ship even to us *before* making the candles.  But then we found a place out on Long Island & took a ride one day & got a TON of wax.  So that helped.

Absolutely fantastic.  I've really got to think on this one.

This one should work for you.  No shea or almond.   :)

Yeah, I don't know, I put the amt in that the recipe called for, maybe it was still too hot or?  Lavender was too fresh, not fresh enough? I don't know!  No added coloring.
But, your soap looks so pretty.

John, it sounds like you have some sensitivities.  I feel for ya!

Really weird.  Maybe it was the temperature.  I know our first batch of Oatmeal Honey overheated and got this weird curly top that looked like worms.  Very usable but really ugly.  We obviously kept that one for ourselves.

Thanks!  That was one thing Eric insisted on, a light tent & real lights.
