Okay, we'll have to add metal rock to my short list. LOL Sorry, Kimberly.  Really loud noise is hard on my old ears these days, especially the right one which I lost half the hearing in a couple of years ago all of a sudden.  Now some noise just causes that eardrum to vibrate painfully.

Have a great time, tho.

Oh, I'm a metalhead too.  Awesome!

Saturday night, we're going to see Stevie Nicks in concert; a gift from my sis & bro-in-law for babysitting my nephew.

Today's selection is a favorite from one of my very favorite musicians whom I've gotten to meet several times.  He's one of those indie artists out there that not many people get to hear about.

Wow, some very interesting choices.  In my CD player at the store I have Herb Alpert, Spyro Gyra, John Tesh, and Govi. All instrumental for the most part. I can't be offending anyone so I have to choose carefully what I play. I happen to like pretty much anything so that's good.

Hi, T!  I grew up listening to Big Band, Herb Alpert, Al Hurt, so many others and still love them.   Can't go wrong with instrumentals for a shop setting, that's for sure.

Thanx for listening.

Good morning!  Have my coffee and am waking up slowly...and sweetly.

A very sadly romantic song from Richard and Linda Thompson: Dimming of the Day

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzqjD-_OMHk&feature=related

Back in 1967, an English folk band was formed called Fairport Convention featuring Richard Thompson.  Later in the 70's, even tho the band was pretty much no more, Richard continued writing songs and touring with his wife, Linda. Both still have active, if separate, careers to this day.

The Queen of Blues Rock, Bonnie Raitt's awesome version, recorded in 2003, and played live here with Richard, not sure what year:

This is a long one that requires a laid back, quiet listen but will take most of us back to childhood.

Greg Brown: Canned Goods

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcs0oEz4QSE

Let those December winds bellow 'n' blow
I'm as warm as a July tomato.

[chorus:]
Peaches on the shelf
Potatoes in the bin
Supper's ready,
everybody come on in
Taste a little of the summer,
Taste a little of the summer,
You can taste a little of the summer
my grandma's put it all in jars.

Well, there's a root cellar,
fruit cellar down below
Watch you head now,
and down you go

Maybe you're weary
an' you don't give a damn
I bet you never tasted her blackberry jam.

[repeat chorus]
Ah, she's got magic in her -
you know what I mean
She puts the sun and rain
in with her green beans.

Because it's our anniversary, today's offering is the song we danced to at our wedding.  I chose it because the seven months between the time we met on-line and our wedding, we spent most of that time far apart, me in Ohio and him down here in Oklahoma, suffering what we came to call 'empty arms syndrome.'  We probably spent a total of maybe 20 days actually together in all that time.
