Remote Site Support Request
« on: May 11, 2012, 03:28:34 PM »
If you are having issues with areas of the site whether it be the forum, shop, or blog We have the capability to remote into your computer on request. This is done by using a third party software called team viewer. This software has been around for a long time and is safe. All you need to do is post in this thread or email me adminAThandmadeartistsshop.com and we can schedule an appointment.
Here is how the process works:
  • We schedule an appointment time
  • I send you an email with a download link
  • You download a small file, which you can delete later
  • I remote into your computer
  • We will need to be on the phone at the same time to communicate
  • You sit back and watch the mouse run around your computer
  • We fix the problem
I've only done this a few times at this point as tests, but it is a fairly simple process.
So please make use of it, if you feel that it would be the simple way to serve you.

Awesome!

Eric uses this sort of remote access for his work, but he uses Kaseya.  And the tech at my last law firm did it too.  First time I saw my cursor moving without me, it was really disconcerting.  Of course, at my old firm they didn't need permission and it happened without warning.  Freaked me out.

I've used it on my computer at the store when I needed help with my software package. The guy was great. It was Mikogo or something like that.

I don't know what program they are using where I work, but it is cool.  I know what you mean, Larissa, about it just 'happening' and it is freaky!

The first time you saw it, did you try to fight it?  I grabbed my mouse & tried to take back control of my cursor so the tech opened a chat window to let me know.

Absolutely!  On mine, the tech called me on the phone and asked that I please stop fighting with him!

When I was working for county gov't; the help desk would ask what you computer name was (mine was EMS909) and then they could access everything on your box.  The only problem I have now is when in "Forum" if I click on the HA hand in the top L corner, I don't go to the HA opening page, I go to forum only.

You need to click the house, I can change it to the home page of the shop. What do you think?
