Anyone Destashing Misc. Glass Beads?
« on: May 09, 2012, 07:43:38 PM »
Anyone destashing random glass beads? When someone purchases a book I send a matching book thong/mark as a free gift like the ones pictured below, so since they are a free gift I don't want to pay a ton. They can be any color, I don't need pairs of the same bead - they just need to have a hole large enough for me to thread a piece of bamboo or hemp cording through. No seed beads, I have tons of those.  :D

-To reiterate, I am not looking for free beads, just thought maybe someone has some odd beads they have lying around taking up space and would be willing to pass on inexpensively- we'd both win.

If you could use vintage buttons, I have plenty that will never make it into my jewelry that you can have, just pay shipping.  Let me know.

Andrea...I may very well be doing some destashing of glass beads after we get back from Houston, TX at the end of the month...I will let you know then.

Maybe someone else will have some in the mean time.

I'll go through mine and see what I have. I'm sure I've got something that would work.

@Lisa - do you think they could be threaded to become a book thong? If so I'd love them...actually, I use shanked buttons for closures too so I'd take any of those you want to get rid of.

Dee, Teresa and Kim - no rush, this is a standing request. I was just starting to look online for some and thought that maybe I could ask here too.

Thank you all!!

I think they could.  I have a lot that are vegetable ivory and others.  There are also some shank buttons that just don't work for me.  Please message me your address.

This may not be what your looking for but I figured I'd post it. http://handmadeartists.com/product-details/Glass/Lampwork/50%20orphan%20spacer%20beads%20lampwork%20glass%20grab%20bag%20sra/?pid=20120516173528b9238

50 misc. glass handmade lampwork beads for $38 bucks shipping is only $2.50.
So I guess it would turn out to be a $1.62 added expense per book if you used 2 beads per book.
Hope it helps, if not I tried  8)

I went through my stuff and found some that I think will work for you. I'll send them when I send the clasps. I have gobs of beads, but most of them have too small of a hole I think. I looked for the biggest hole ones I could find. How does $2.00 grab you?

They are either beads I've had FOREVER, not the best quality but still useable, or resin. I'm just as happy to have someone USE them, than keep them for no reason.

HAAA!!!!!!!! You're a complete nut, Andrew.

Teresa, that would be awesome! I use just about anything but lightweight plastic since I prefer my bookmarks to have more weight to them.

Thank you, thank you!
