Quilt for my granddaughter.
« on: May 08, 2012, 09:59:33 AM »
I finally finished the quilt for my youngest granddaughter and will be mailing it off today.  Since I couldn't find any material I liked for the back, I painted some muslin.  However when I washed it -it faded, after it was all put together!  So I went out and bought some awesome fabric paints and repainted it - without getting it all over the front (Yay me!) It didn't come out quite like I wanted, but I didn't want to saturate it too much and have it go throught to the front.

The back

Not all acrylic paints are created equally! ;) I used a brand I hadn't used before - and it will be the last time I use it for painting on material.

It's a lovely piece and I really like the back. It sorta has a tie dye look to it.

Andrew, I did see that you google+ this, thank you!
Sandi, Thank you.
Teresa, oh good, that is sort of what I was trying to achieve! It was kind of tricky though since it had already been put together.  and Thank you!
