So pretty!  I love the patterned backing fabric.

I think it was very common for mothers and Oma's in Europe to teach their daughters/granddaughters these things early on.  I learned to knit, crochet, sew and other needlework from mine

Very sweet quilt, Monika :)

I wish my mom had been into this stuff; I'm starting late in life.  My mom got me into the fine arts and latch hook and baking, but she's always hated to sew & never had any interest in knitting or crochet.  I'd like to have been an expert by now.

My grandmother sewed wonderfully and she taught me a little bit, I was never very interested.  My mother hated sewing and periodically knitted things.  She and a couple of other right handed people tried in vain to teach left handed me to know.

I second that motion, Larissa....

Lisa, I am so sorry. Why would it be so hard to teach a left handed person? Just curious, as I just volunteered to teach some in our youth group at church to crochet.... :-\

It just always looked backward to me.  I did learn to crochet a bit and I did some embroidery when I was younger.  In the early 70's, I made embroidered patches for my sister and my aunt for jeans.  That was when people didn't buy pre-shredded jeans, they just wore out with use.  I'm not a promising candidate for knitting because I don't like working on one thing for too long.

The quilt is gorgeous!!!

I get my craftiness from my Dad. He's the one who painted, did needlework, (embroidery, crewel work)whittling, furniture making, ....
My Mom was a great cook and baker, but not into the crafty thing at all. She could sew on buttons and stuff, but that was the extent of it!
