First Day
« on: April 15, 2009, 07:38:31 PM »
Well this is the first day of the forum and I'm excited.
So make it what you want it to be, talk about what you want and most of all enjoy.
Andrew ;D

I think it'll be nice to have options.  I don't care too much for Yahoo's message format either.  Sometimes stuff goes to my junk mail and then I'm lost when people reply.

It is a nice thing to have a forum. :) As a long time Yahoo user in many groups, I much prefer forums over emails. I think it is more personal. They also allow me to read what I want to. :P I am excited about this forum and your group. :)

I gotta buck the trend and say I like email. Maybe I'm lazy or I belong to too many forums (what can I say, I'm a joiner) but I never seem to get around to visiting them.

Looks like this is a good one with email notification at the top level, so I'll try to hang in with y'all.

This is great to hear I am so excited to see you guys coming out. I personally and a member of many yahoo groups and never participated much because the messaging system stunk so much. Always having to read the first post 500 times really was a pain in the a**.
Plus the gallery was cumbersome.
Well hope you all like it.
PS the ads you see are project wonderful, I'm using them to offset the cost of hosting this forum. The ad space will fill up so you won't have to look at my wife's beautiful rose for long.

I'm another one that doesn't like Yahoo for forums. It just confuses me more than I already am on a normal day! I like this forum much better!

Thanks you guys!

Did I post here already?  I hope not...anyway, I'm just glad I found this place.  I don't know how, but Chainmaille starting following my twitter, so I followed theirs, and then I saw the link to this brand new forum and said, why, that's just what I would enjoy right now!!  heehee...
I don't do chainmaille, but I love making jewelry.  I hope that counts.  :-)

This is great. :)

I have been looking for a good forum. I hope there'll be a market here too. It would be nice
if we could sell/buy/swap spare rings, beads or whatever here. I don't mean shops - just whatever we
have that we don't need...

That's a great idea. Swaps, trades is fine I will add a section in the board for this.
No selling though do that in your own shop. But offering stuff up to help people I'm all for.
Thanks,
Andrew

I wasn't thinking of things that can be sold in the shops - besides - not everyone here will have shops. Some users here could easily be people without shops. I do have a shop; but I haven't opened it yet, and I don't know if I ever will; because it's a bit too complicated for me, I think.

But - I was thinking more in the line of a handful of beads or some wire - you know - things that you wouldn't put in your Etsy shop; but might be at great use to a hobby-chainmailler on this forum.

I totally agree boots, I already added a category for your idea under General Discussion.
Thanks Andrew

Day Two
« Reply #13 on: April 16, 2009, 09:06:31 AM »
Well the forum is off and running our first day resulted in 16 new members. Two more have already joined this morning so I'm pretty excited. So anyway tell your friends and keep stopping by and chatting. Don't be she to use the suggestion area to make this place better. Like most  forums this software can be divided into multiple categories and sections of Board if you will. Right now we are only section General Category, more sections like this can be added if you feel the need. But I need your ideas. I see people posted stuff like wordless Wednesday and the like so your use your imagination and lets have fun.
Thanks and Enjoy
Andrew

Thanks,
