Think it is time for a new contest
« on: January 23, 2012, 11:17:50 AM »
January and February are always such glum times for me...holidays are over and spring is soooo far away...so I think we need to hold another contest to spice things up a bit.
First of all, any ideas for a theme for this one?  Also, anyone want to contribute a small prize for a poster?  I will toss a pendant in the mix, but anyone else interested?  Since the ads are coming down soon when the sites merge we will have to come up with a prize for the winning design as well...I'll talk to Andrew about that one and see what we come up with.

That's not a bad theme, but more parameters would be good.  Like I loved the shirt refashion one.

Winter, turning a snowman into something?  Perhaps not.

How about a "hard times" theme...  it doesn't matter what you end up with, but a piece of what would be considered 'trash' must be at least a major element...  an empty cereal box, empty paper towel tube, threadbare old shirt or jeans....  In a bad economy, everyone is trying to extend the life of what used to be disposable.  You'd have to submit at least one picture of what you started with.

I love this idea.  Focus on remaking and making do with what you have and create something amazing!
Anyone else want to chime in?

Sounds good to me too, especially since other people's trash is the main element in my jewelry.  Of course, I buy some of other people's trash. :)
