I just finished making this the other day. Was bored silly and tired of making doilies. Found the pattern for this upstairs and then had to go hunting in my yarn piles to find something I thought would work for it. Ended up choosing a 100% cotton yarn and oooh does that feel nice to work with.

Love the idea...as a mother of two boys, anything that is handmade for boys is a hit!  I have found over the years that cute and girly is easy to find, but boys stuff is a much tougher search. 
Prime example, I wanted to give the boys lap desks one year and all I could find was "cute."  I finally had to make a custom order request from an artist who admitted that they didn't even think about using boy friendly material.  They now have an entire line of them!
