Hey, serious props to those of you who regularly develop and sell your sewing patterns.  I drafted instructions for this sucker and forwarded them, the patterns, and photos of each page to a friend who's a fairly new sewer to check for clarity, and by tonight I should be uploading the whole shebang to the Reef Botanicals HAFshop for sale.  The pdf is TWENTY-NINE PAGES!

Wow.  And it's really not easy to write clear instructions.  I tried to have E read them, but got "what's topstitch?" And "what's a seam allowance?" so I sent it to the friend instead.  Sigh.  Her "payment" is that she gets the info, which is good because she has someone she wants to make it for.

Writing patterns is a pain in the butt.  A few years ago I wrote a pattern for fingerless mittens that I sent to a friend to test and we both agreed that for the most part you have to 'dumb down' some things just so it's clear.  I can't expect everybody to know what my mumbo jumbo means :D

Glad the gifts were such a success.  Love the mental image of a child sleeping with a dolphin crayon.  The busy book will, I am sure, give him lasting enjoyment.  I google +'d it.
