Got One Gift Done
« on: November 27, 2011, 09:39:55 AM »
I'm making Chanukah, Christmas, and birthday gifts for the nephews.  So far, I've got one thing done, these number beanbags.  A second set is in the works (in green corduroy) for the 2nd nephew, and then I need to make the storage/carry pouches for them.  But I thought I'd show off what I have so far, especially since the pouches  won't be coming for a little while.  First I'm in the middle of a fairly elaborate and time-consuming birthday gift for my nephew.  His birthday and the first night of Chanukah fall on the same day this year - December 19.  So I'm a tad under the gun, especially with rehearsals still going on - my show goes up next weekend!

Those are cute!! And so fun with the different fabric patterns. Seems like a great way to use up smaller fabric scraps!

Thanks!  Yeah, I'm really happened with the results, despite the issues I had sewing on the numbers (mentioned in my blog post from last night).

Oh boy, you have no idea!

And now a friend wants to BUY a set of these beanbags as a Christmas gift for her godson.  Extra work for me, but how cool is that?!

I told her $15 + shipping.  Does that sound reasonable?

Remember, I live in NYC where you can basically get nothing for $15, so it sounds crazy cheap for something handmade to me.  I would check prices in a high end toy shop.

Good point.  She's in Marietta, GA.  Well, she'll get a deal, but if this keeps up, I'll change things for future reference.

Those are awesome!  I think $15 is pretty inexpensive for a bean bag set!  If they were plain then maybe not, but they look a little labor intensive so I'd maybe bump it to $20 or even $25!

Thanks!  Yeah, I'll do the one set for my friend for $15 since I already told her that, but I've listed them in the HAFShop for $25.

Woot!  I remember it took me maybe an hour to do the ones for Jax's bday and those were just plain ones!  :)  Of course my sewing machine doesn't always play nice either  ;D

Yeah, the numbers were the toughest part, but I started to get the swing of it.

I think I commented on this on your blog. ???
Anyway, I love it and it should be $25.
