Someone shared this link with me and I think it sounds helpful.  I haven't yet tried their suggestions, but I still want to share it.

That's a good site for photo tips. I made some purchases from them a few years back and I have used their site to photography tips and techniques.

William Holland School of Lapidary Arts has a digital photography for jewelry workshop if anyone's interested in it.  I've not taken that workshop yet, but I've seen the work that come out of it and the photos look great!

oooooh some lovely tips for jewellery product shots, as i am sure all the extra reflections and highlights are essential for fabulous pics and increased sales.

I try hard ensuring my pics are great for my cards, it makes all the difference... thinking about it this type of lighting would be great to add some extra sparkle to any swarovski's on my cards.

Both sites have some really good info. and along with that some info about keeping photos "safe" but as they say - if it's on e the web, its not safe - but there are some tings you can do to help deter theft http://digital-photography-school.com/ways-to-protect-your-digital-images-online
