I haven't paid any attention to the taste test thing or much else that's "new" over there. I've gotten drawn into the whole circle thing and am finding it to be only slightly annoying, and certainly not valuable in any way. I think it's just one of those "let's see how many we can get" kind of things.

I have to say I don't understand the circle thing.  The funny thing is that people keep putting me in their circles and I have had an empty shop for over a year!  Why circle me?

Me too!  I think it's like people with 4 zillion facebook friends - they do it for the numbers.

I get "hits" and reviews from Link referral like that. The one shop is closed and the entire site is gone.

Have you seen that Etsy has rolled out their "ads" feature now? You can't just renew to get your listings to the top of the heap anymore. But now you have the option of having an Etsy ad. I looked at it today. It's set up much like Facebook where you can establish a budget, choose what you want to advertise. The lowest rate is $5.00 per week! So on top of the .20 to list, now you gotta pay $5.00 or more a week to advertise your stuff. I'd like to know where these ads run? Is it just onsite? All I can say is they have quite a raquet going now and I'm glad I'm out.
