NEW CEO on Etsy

I was just looking at my blog dashboard and catching up when I saw this from Etsy B**ch. Thyere is not a full post yet but word is that Rokali is out and Chad is going to be the new CEO of Etsy! Does that mean there could be light at the end of this tunnel? DO we dare think it will be restored to what it was?
Personally, I think the HAFshops scared the pants off of them and they decided that heas needed to roll! Way to go Andrew and Kim!

At this point I don't think it could get any worse for most of us. I really hope this does help. For me step one would be getting rid of the circles, and all that other stuff. Etsy is NOT FACEBOOK! They were never meant to be that.

I doubt etsy would be scared by us. That is funny LOLBut I do believe that their is still a train at the end of their tunnel though at least for the immediate future.

I don't know about that. This whole thing is not just about bad management over there. I hear rumblings of FINANCIAL troubles as well.

I've read this in a couple of places lately but nothing definite.  Seems to me that Etsy long ago forgot who was paying their bills and that no matter how many cupcakes are around the forums, if people are not happy they will leave and take their .20 with them.

I saw some talk on this in the Etsy forums but Etsy is being really tight lipped other than to say that they no longer use the program...but why would they have used it in the first place if not to track you around the web?

I don't want to say too much and sound like I am bashing because I really am not.  I sold on Etsy for a number of years, and while there were many problems during that time, I stayed and made the best of what they gave me.  That being said, I took much of what I learned there and want to use it here.  I don't want all the secret society stuff and hush hush; I made a commitment to be open with you all about the shop and whatever problems/fixes/programs/etc we are working on because I really don't think it is fair that sellers that are paying for a service are left in the dark.

I'm of the opinion that they are too dense to realise the problems. The fact that you guys are up front is a huge selling point for the site! I take the same approach in my store.  I try to send out monthly newsletters  to let all sellers know what's going on. I try to stay as positive as I  can, but I don't lie about things. Nothing gets my dander up more than a liar!

I totally agree. I keep asking about removing the friggen Taste Test, which to me, seems like a good option, bc I think it confuses customers. I think Chad is like Rokali, personally. I doubt that the Etsy Admin has much power. I see like, a ton of errand boys and girls running around in stupid vintage outfits and flaunting their new "whimsical f***ery" as Regretsy might say. Hehe. But, the good news is that they must not hate me that much bc I made the front page for the first time since February--both AFTER rokali was booted. So, that's a good sign, I think!

I haven't paid any attention to the taste test thing or much else that's "new" over there. I've gotten drawn into the whole circle thing and am finding it to be only slightly annoying, and certainly not valuable in any way. I think it's just one of those "let's see how many we can get" kind of things.
