Pulling weeds and turning beds and got the seeds started.  Also, put in grape plants today so we shall see how they do.  The boys picked that as their plant pick this year and I really have no clue how to care for them so off to do some more research.

This year our veggies are much more organized.  Eric & our friend EJ cleaned out the garden box last week, and today Eric planted cukes, peas, beans, one watermelon (the mini sort), bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, mesclun, mustard greens, lettuce, chard, and cherry tomatoes.

We've also got a blueberry bush started by the side of the driveway, around which I tossed a wildflower "butterfly & hummingbird" mix, and they all seem to be growing like crazy.  Every time we look throughout the day there seem to be more flower plants springing up.

In another area, we planted 3 sunflowers that seem to be really strong, and some more flowers that are taking longer to germinate.

We have flourishing chives in one window box (one plant that's good for use, the other is flowering), and a bunch of other herbs still in the starter boxes.

So far so good!

Wow!  Larissa and Kimberly are already planting, Geezzzzz!  OK I think you two should ship some of your garden goodies to me (cheshire grin, batting eyes).   ^-^

I don’t know if I’ll be planting my tomatoes yet… Weather here has been really weird. We shall see…. Great job Larissa and Kimberly!  ;)

WTG ladies!!!

My squash, cucumbers, jalepenos are blooming. I have tomatoes on the plants...small...but they are there. brussels and eggplant are looking good. Basil, dill, cilantro, chives, and rosemary are doing great!

Ick!

We've got rain today, which is actually wonderful.  We've been having to water even more than once a day because it's been so hot & dry here.  The plants have to be ecstatic to have a steady light rain.

Oh, and there's such a multitude of wildflower sprouts around the blueberry bush now that I can see them from the 2nd floor window.

heheh snow!! yeah, I put out some of my plants a few weeks ago - and then brought them in a week later - becaue it was snowing in the middle of April!

Dee - is your rosemary plant in a pot or in the ground???
I love rosemary, and have tried a bunch of plants - which always die - in pots.  I don't really have a place I can plant them in the ground.  Any tips would be greatly appreciated.  My basil, cilantro and flowers  are doing great tho.

I caught a couple birds eating some of my ungerminated flower seeds right out of the ground this morning!  Little beasts!

I have seen that in the past...they really don't understand we want them to stay and grow!! Or maybe they just really don't care...after all...they are hungry!

I have a birdfeeder I've been meaning to hang.  Maybe then they'll leave my flowers alone.
