I've been blessed with some very healthy plants this year (and rain just when they need it!) My cherry tomatoes are turning red but the big ones are taking their sweet time.

I know what you mean about the big tomatoes. Mine are doing the same. I've had plenty of cherry tomatoes as well, but only a few big ones.

Everybody's gardens are looking good!  :)  I just noticed the other day that our purple peppers are big!  I haven't picked them because I don't honestly know when they're "done".  :D  The carrots are getting bigger and there are slugs all over my yard!  Does anyone know how that really happens?  It's like they started in the rhubarb and now I'm stepping on them everywhere.  Ew.

Also, I need tips on freezing/canning tomatoes please!

Put some small bowls of beer near the plants that the slugs are liking. They will be attracted to the beer and crawl in and drown. Just be sure to change it frequently and buy the cheapest stuff you can find.

Just a note:  I'm going to be REALLY pissed if the hurricane kills our plants before the cherry tomatoes have had a chance to get ripe!

If they do I can send you one of our giant plants to make up for it :D  We have tomatoes coming out of our ears!

We did try the beer thing once, but Andy used a disc golf disc so they couldn't really get in :D
