I don't have the recipe with me, but I'll share my refrigerator pickle recipe with you. When they start coming in big time, this is a great way to use up some. Delicious, quick to make, few ingredients,  and super easy. NO canning!

OMG, the beginnings of our first ear of corn!!!

It's not the best shot in the world because I just took it in the dark dead of night, but it's there!

ugh...with the excessive heat and rain we've been getting, our garden is crap.  I'm too busy to mess with it the way I should, and so next year, we'll be paying a farmer to grow what we want, then I can just have fun canning, and not fighting (and losing) the weeds.

That's great, Beth!  We're up to 6 visible ears of corn with silk & 5 or so more bulges where they're starting.

We were set to have a ton of tomatoes... and the groundhog ate them.  He even had the gall to pull two of the cages right out of the ground and throw them onto the cukes!  Twerp.

We did pull our first two radishes tonight!

Yay, cuke!

Thank you Larissa… I thought you would never say ’cuke’ again! LOL

Hope everyone is enjoying the veggies from their garden…

MMMM radishes!

Looking good! I just don't have the interest in a garden anymore. It helps that we are surrounded by small farms so we can get organic all the time!

The sprouts are coming up in the seed starter we've got going in the dining room... we're trying to time things better this year, so we've started with just peppers and tomatoes - several varieties of each.  We've also been saving the clear plastic tubs our pretzels and snacks come in from BJs, so we can use them as little greenhouses for more starter plants once it gets a bit later in the season.  Now if it would just stop snowing...

Got tomatoes, peppers and a few other things sprouting and the rest go into the ground from seed.  Put in raspberry and blueberry bushes last fall so hopefully they survived the winter but will have to wait for this darn snow to stop to find out!

Lucky for me, I am a member of our local evening farmers market where I sell my crafts...so I get a great choice of fresh veggies and fruits.  so no more fighting the heat, bugs, and weeds for me.
 ;)

We'll probably put in a few tomato plants, try pumpkin for science class, since Chuck has been out playing green acres on his tractor.  My daughter needs to hurry and build her house in that field so he'll stop pulling me into his "this years crop will be different" alter universe.

LOL, Debbi!

I actually really like gardening, and Eric loves it.  Plus, the bees like the pollen & nectar, & I prefer that at least *some* of what they get isn't adulterated by 'cides and fertilizer.

Debbie, we have the same thing....Andrew has an entire compound planned out and I just want to get the basic stuff done!

I love working in the yard and now that we actually have some property to play with I'm really looking forward to digging around this year
