Cabbage Patch knits!

I've been thinking about making some for my shop, but I know lots of people (in general) do doll clothes...what do you think?

thanks!  :)  Yeah, I remember having a few when I was little and was so excited to see a 'normal' doll for Kara instead of the crazy ones they have now  ;D

I'm so glad to know that all dolls haven't turned into teen hookers!  Looks wonderful

No kidding!  Just going through Toys R Us I was really thrown for a loop at how many gross dolls there are for sale for little girls!  I mean seriously, no kid of mine needs to be playing with Emo half-naked vamped up dolls.   :o

Personally, I think the cabbage patch clothes and dolls are cute. I don't know if they are very popular though. Seems that American Girl is the size/doll to have which is okay. That being said, I would try some and see what kind of views you get.

The dolls now are horrible! I can't even imagine buying one and giving it to any kid.

Thanks Teresa!  Yeah I googled Cabbage Patch clothes and it didn't come up with a whole lot, but I'm sure it's mostly because they aren't very popular anymore.  Sad!   :(  But yeah, I knit another one up to see how it goes, I just have to photograph it and post and we'll see what happens!  :)  Or if nothing else I can make the sizes bigger so they fit small children :D

I have patterns for Cabbage Patch clothes from when my  kids were little. I guess they would qualify for the "vintage" tag now. ::)

lol; I think the Cabbage Patch dolls I had way back when would be 'vintage' too!  :)

Love that pink one!

I think I still have my cabbage patch somewhere.  Her name was Debbie Meredith.  My sis might have hers too, actually.

These are darling, dahlish!  I sold two dolls at the Arts Festival a couple of weeks ago - one going to a child, and the other bought for an adult.  Both customers mirrored the thoughts expressed here...  that what's commercially available is not acceptable.

I love your Cabbage Patch doll clothes. I still love the Cabbage Patch dolls. My daughter (10) never thought much of the dolls. She snickered when I told her my grandmother waited in line for hours to buy me a Cabbage Patch doll when I was her age.

I'm sure there is a market for the clothes, especially for women my age who still have their original dolls.

I think it might be worth it to post a few and see what happens.
The dolls that are available today are so sad.   You would almost think some alien designed the dolls.  What is so hard about making a baby doll look more life like?   I had this beautiful bride doll that I managed to keep until I was around 36 yrs old and then I'm not sure what happened to it - actually I think my step mother snagged it when it was up in the attic for a while between moves. Now that's sad!

Thanks I think I will!  I know that I have a sweater that's still on needles in the closet because I got sidetracked  ;D
