New item for me... been wanting to make one for awhile. 

The metal bit is normally used in woodturning.  ;)

Love this!  Will be contacting soon to make some up for me.  They are much better than the crappy ones I have around my house now

Very nice may just have to get some of those for my fans, my wife is short and can't reach the fan pulls.

Arrggh, I want one! :o Unfortunately, my hubby is super tall and would probably get knocked out. I practically had to beg him to leave on the chain pulls that we do have. I get sick of using stools and chairs to turn on lights!

Have to laugh because I grew up in a family of tall people!  When my parents built their house they raised the counter heights and ceilings a bit...their friends would come over and get confused because everything was just a bit taller than normal!  Andrew is tall too, but luckily all of our fans are over the beds or furniture so he won't have to worry about banging into them.
