Whale and Butterfly Stained Glass Mobiles

ok - I tried posting this a little bit ago - it said I posted it - but can't find it so I'm trying it again!

I recently was involved in a project where a group of artists worked with some 2nd graders - they wrote poems based on "I Am" theme - encouraged to use animals, colors etc.  There were some wonderful poems.  Each of us were assigned 2 poems so there was something created inspired for each poem.
I wish I could post the poems that inspired these, but I can't.  One is about a butterfly, the other about a whale.  The whale one isn't quite what I wanted - I was trying to make it with pieces on each side of the whale, but was having a hard time making it balance, and was running out of foil - no time to go to the store for more, so just had to finish it up.  The whale and the butterfly are both painted glass.  A few of the other pieces are also painted.

also running out of time and light for pics - so I had to just get them!  so, the pictures aren't quite up to par! It was a really fun project to do!

I like stained glass too.  I really enjoy painting on glass and thought that doing stained glass pieces and painting them with more details than usually possible with just the glass would be fun to do.

These are gorgeous.  I love them and thanks for an idea you just gave me.  I have a large stained glass heart I just made and I was wondering what to do with it.  Making it into a mobile seems to be a great idea.  Thank you.

I really enjoy making the mobiles - sometimes they get a little frustrating trying to get them to balance - the whale one was meant to be much bigger!  It may become bigger yet.
