We pulled out my ice cream maker tonight!
« on: April 13, 2011, 12:35:59 AM »
I hadn't used it in several years, but used to use it a lot!  It was a gift from some friends, law school graduation, I think.  Eric was SO excited to find out I had one!  He actually mentioned buying one, so I just found mine.  So tonight, this:

Became peanut butter chocolate chip ice cream.

My first thought was that it is too cold and wet for ice cream....my second was how good that looks!  My have to pull mine out here soon.

Ha, I scoff at the cold & wet!  (unless the cold and wet comes from the ice cream, that is)

When I was at Brandeis, we had an on-campus coffee house.  They carried Ben & Jerry's ice cream too.  I'd go down there in January and get ice cream & hot chocolate.  :D  I'm an ice cream fiend.

Plus, it's obviously ice cream season - the trucks are out and about every afternoon!  I've been jonesing for ice cream ever since they started.

Thanks for the laughs, guys!  It's been a crappy day, so it's good to chuckle at your responses.

Ouch, I'm trying to start a diet, may have to run to the 24 hour grocery.

Wow that looks so good I'm tempted to call the hubby and ask him to pick some ice cream up on his way home....despite the fact that it's snowing.  Again.  :)

Oh that looks so yummy - I love homemade ice cream - and have so many fond memories of helping to make ice cream at my grandparents -with the old hand crank machine - with lots of ice and rock salt - with some newspapers and a blanket on top -
now, if I could just find some rock salt - I'll have to get mine out!

Ha we took the easy way out - automatic Cuisinart ice cream maker.  We froze the canister, poured in all the ingredients, and pushed a button.  :D

Eric *does* want to do ice cream with liquid nitrogen, though.

Why do I think he will try it soon?
