Premature baby seamless cardigans
« on: September 01, 2010, 09:44:05 AM »
These tiny little cardigans are knitted all in one, with the sleeves knitted in the round to avoid harsh seams.  Sized to fit preemie babies weighing between 2 to 3 lbs.

I know nothing about knitting, so I'm not sure what "in the round" means, but these are beautiful!  :)

These tiny cardigans are £6.99 each, the time it takes to knit them varies as each one has a slightly different pattern.

Basically the main whole cardigan is knitted all in one with the sleeves being knitted in the round, which means the sleeves are knitted on double pointed needles, like on circular needles, which allows you to create tubes of knitting. thus no seams.

Adorable!  And it's a great idea to avoid the seams.  You really think about your details.

Larissa thank you for the compliment, as the mother of two premature baby girls and a Nana of a premature grandson I understand just how delicate a premature baby's skin is.
