Well, long story short, I have used and abused it and the interchangeable heads no longer stay attached so I have resorted to using duct tape to keep my favorite brass head attached.

Duct tape works for everything!  ;D

I have a small anvil that was well used before me, so it's all lumpy and bumpy. I don't use it anymore, put it away when I flattened a wire too flat, it was awful looking (damn near split it). I am looking at a steel block, fairly large sized, at the local hardware store. I have a wire whacker now that works fairly well for wire hardening.

A small ball pein hammer should do you well, just remember not to hammer too hard, like I did, LOL. I also use some sort of a plastic mallet that Dan uses on his woods, it doesn't ding anything. Prolly best for hardening, not hammering.
