Wire gauge question

Ok all of you super talented wire artisans....What gauge of wire is the best for earwires?

I don't make them, but I know Kimberly uses 20ga AWG

I know that some people do use smaller gauge (like 22), but I always found that too flimsy for my taste...but if your ears are sensitive you may be able to work harden it enough to work.

Okay, thanks! :D I usually only use store-bought findings, so buying the wire will make for some fun designs! ^-^

I use 20 gauge mostly. I've tried 22 but they are a bit on the delicate side.

Once you start playing you will find that you can come up with really fun designs!

I have heard that 20-21 ga is best for earwires~
Thank you Jan.  I think I just bought 20g..lol..Guess I should go look at the stash I just got.  I think 20g will be my choice.  Hugs!! :D

Now here's more ear wire questions ...

Where is everyone buying their 20 gauge wire and what type of wire are you using for ear wires?

Do you use a wire jig to get the basic shape or do you just wing it?
