This is the way to look at Peacock Feathers, IMO: Peacocks and Peacock Feathers

If you could find iridescent beads that change from brown to turquoise in the light like the plumulaceous and pennaceous barbs of the Peacock feather actually do, that would be even more cool but your work, in and of itself, is a beautiful interpretation.

Ever seen an albino peacock???   ;)

oohhh that albino peacock is very pretty i didnt even know that they had albino peacocks. My mom in law said they did but i didnt believe her. How pretty! Thanks for the idea on the peacock feather with the irradesent beads I actually used irradesent beads for the EYE. but I think they would be too dark to use in place of the green. I will look around and see if i can find a color that would match better. I wonder if a dark rainbow green would work?

Yeah, I don't know if I'd worry a lot about the colors - that's really cool! Besides, I think the way the real feathers shimmer I've never seen one that looks brown at all unless they are in just the right light -

I would try using a mix of beads in a range of tones for each color in the "eye" - a mix of blues, a mix of golds, etc. I know this is NOT traditional for french beading, but it will give a more naturalistic look.

That was what I was going to suggest.  It's an absolutely lovely piece!

This is absolutely stunning! And I have learned alot about the coloring of peacock feathers in the process. I knew what it was the moment I saw it. I think it's a grand interpretation... :D
