Really?  Tulips are that pretty ion the inside???  Wow...  I have a new appreciation for tulips...

Oh yes, Gina, take a close look at the insides of tulips. As with so many of Mother Nature's creations, they're simply amazing!

Now that I've looked at your photos I had to go check out the inside of some tulips tonight!  I had no idea that the insides are more colorful than the outside on a lot of them!  Wonder what else I'm missing?

It's all about perspective and looking at something differently.  How many people *HATE* dandelions in their lawn (I just watched a neighbor spend like a whole day with some tool pulling each one out, one at a time).  I think they look cool:

Wow! Dandelions are incredible! I don't think however, that I'd be able to convince my hubby that we should keep them growing in our yard.
 ;)

He's one just like your neighbor and will spend countless hours digging up all of the wild flowers in the lawn... and to make it more *fun* <giggle>, the person who owned our home before us decided that instead of spreading lawn seed in the bare patches of grass, they spread a flower seed mixture.  We've lived there for 6 years and still never know what's going to spring up amongst the grasses.
 :)

LOL!  We had a mess of a lawn when we moved in and have spent hours trying to get it to a point of being more grass than weeds...but I never thought of spreading flowers in it!  Now you have me thinking that I should go around and try to see all my weeds from a different angle.

I'm with you on the dandelions - I like 'em!  I once did a drawing of 3 of 'em together, all in pencil, all shaded - every freakin' petal.  Blown up huge, too.  I was a little obsessive back then, it was before the face painting and I could afford to take the time.  LOL

Thanks!  And yes, they are fun, I love making them.  It's just so neat to start with a plain white one, then poof, it's all pretty!

I'm not too concerened about weeds in the lawn...that dandelion was in OUR lawn!  DH doesn't prefer weeds in the grass, but to me, if it's green, it works.  I don't think I'd put a flower mixture in it though-unless I decided there was a patch I didn't want to mow and figured to make it a wildflower garden!  I know someone that tried to mulch the whole lawn (granted, it wasn't big) so they didn't need to mow it.

A 100% mulch lawn could get pretty... pungent.

My plan was to concrete the entire thing and paint it green!  Then my son got old enough to mow so now it is all good...for me anyways.

This thread turned very interesting!  I love the inside of tulips and many other flowers too - and yes dandelions are pretty cool too!
Love the tulip one esp and the ice storm also!
