Please Critique 2
« on: April 18, 2009, 11:44:36 PM »
These are red brass pieces I made last week.  I decided to let everyone critique it, since after reading some of the posts, I think I will get an honest opinion.  Please tell me what you like, dislike, what needs changed, improved upon....etc.

Thanks in advance,

Jeanne

Really beautiful!  I love angles.  My only question would be the small curls at the top of the pendant; are they in a place to scratch or catch on things?  I also really like the chain with the coils.  I wish I could find a fault...but nope.  Really well done, designed and executed pieces.

I also really like the pieces and offer no constructive criticism, I think they are very unique.
I also like the symbolism doll on your website you should post some pictures here under crafty creations.

Thank you. I don't think the curls will catch, but I guess I would have to wear it to try it.  ::)  They are pretty smooth and are actually what holds the bail on the pendant.

Thank you, Andrew.  I like to make my own designs when possible.  Often when I see something, I will think of another way to work a piece that is unique to me.

You really want me to put my symbolism doll on your website?

It may not catch, I was just wondering since sometimes it is hard to tell with pictures.  I really do like the design a lot.  Metalwork is calling me, like I need one more project right now.

I looked at your web site and you make me want to take all my cups and glasses out of the cupboard and paint them.  I think we are even.   You do great work. I especially love the cobalt blue cups, but all of them are fantastic.

I wouldn't change a single thing about it. I love the ring coils incorporated into the strands, and also the beads onto the pendant. Nice touches. And black is ALWAYS a classic favorite.

Thanks, Janelle and Cassandra:

I wore it the other day.  Yes, I actually went out of the house.  It didn't catch on my blouse so I was quite pleased.  Got a lot of compliments so I was happy with it.

You Go Girl; It's such a good feeling when someone asks you where you got that unique piece of jewelry from, and you get to proudly say "I MADE IT"!!!!!  ;D

I couldn't agree more with the above.

Jeanne, I have a question about the metal you used... what's the difference between red brass and jewelers? I admire your ability to combine subtle curves with the strong angles of of the pendant.

Love them both!

It was.  I hadn't been out of the house for awhile and usually when I go, I forget to wear what I make.  It has been a couple of years since I'd worn anything unusual and got compliments.
