Orchid Show (lots of photos)

I had some fun with friends yesterday at the Orchid Show at the NY Botanical Gardens in the Bronx.  These are a few of my shots (the digi ones), there are a lot more on my Shutterfly share site.  Plus, I need to get the 3 rolls of print film I took developed.



Yes, print film.  I still have a camera that's 100% manual, and I love it!

LOL, it could've been... but the crowds were out in full force in the nice weather!  It's a miracle my photos weren't full of random humans.

Gorgeous!!! I still love print film! It's fun to not know how your pictures are going to look (unless they all look bad, then it's no fun :'().

Holy crap those are beautiful!  My favorite is the one next to the barrel cactus~ I just LOVE those colors!!!

You are making me want to go to the botanical garden~ spring is the best time to go when you live in the desert.  Too bad it's raining today.

Y'know... I have an Etsy account under NJPHotographer, and I had some photos listed a while back, but got pretty much no hits despite the fact that one I took in Ireland was picked up as part of an Irish treasury or something.  So I gave up; I was spending money listing and getting nothing out of it.  Then we started with the soap and I just let it go.

Also, I used to do photo notecards and sell them at craft fairs.  My mother carries some in her store and every once in a blue moon someone buys a few, but not frequently.

Awesome!! I love orchids - just never have been able to really feel like I could spend the bucks on them.  I found one last year at a store for a great price and bought it.  It's still growing, hoping it will bloom again. 
I love those purple ones!
I sold a few photos on etsy - but didn't seem to be a big seller - I'm not sure but I think the photo thing may have picked up there.  I still have my film  slr camera too - I like the macro with it much better than my digital one.
There's an upcoming flower (can't remember what flower) soon, that I'm hoping to go to - hope they won't mind me taking a lot of pictures and there's good lighting.

There are just SO many photographers on Etsy, it's ridiculous.  It feels like there's so many of everything, really.

I've owned orchids - twice.  I killed 'em both times.  But then, I don't know what I was thinking, because I can kill a cactus.  I know, because I've done it.

Hey, if anyone wants any of these, if I add you as a member to my Shutterfly share site, you can order them directly from Shutterfly as if they were any of your own prints.  Shutterfly charges a whopping $0.15 for 4x6 prints, so why not?
