Navy and Sage Green Fern Tote Bag/Purse
« on: February 19, 2010, 01:52:28 PM »
In my favorite color palette again, here is a navy blue, sage green, and off white fern print tote bag/purse trimmed with dark blue grossgrain ribbon on the straps. It measures 12 1/2" across the opening, 13 1/2" from top to bottom, and 15" across at widest part of the body. Bottom panel is just over 3" wide, with a plastic canvas panel for suppport (minimal, it doesn't stand on its own). Two inside open pockets with plenty of room, lined in a sage green cotton blend. Magnetic snaps allow it to stay closed. Handles measure 9" or so from top of the bag. Not made to carry over your shoulder, only on your arm.  Nice smaller size would allow for flip flops, small towel and tanning lotion, sunglasses, and cell for pool or beach! Can you tell I am ready for some HOT weather?

Oh my gosh, Jan, is there anything you can't do?? This is a terrific purse, and just in time for someone to snatch it up for spring ... beautiful!! :)

Nancy-Thanks! I learned sewing in high school, and have been doing so ever since. My mom always said the more you know how to do for yourself, the better off you will be, and no truer words were ever spoken.

I hope someone snatches this quick, as I am soooo tempted to keep it for myself. I just listed it in my Etsy shop for $22, does that sound fair?  ;D

No problem!  I like to try and find everything the spotlighted artist is up to.  I think it makes you (and therefore my post) more interesting.  Plus, the more people see, the more they may be attracted to and want to buy!

The artists on this forum honestly make it so easy - so many of you are so multitalented, it's crazy how much there is to say in the blog posts.  My biggest issues is narrowing down photos.

Going through your blog & shops, I probably had an additional 10 photos I saved to my computer, and then as I wrote I had to pick which ones to use.

LOL, thanks! I was suprised and pleased at the amount of pics you used.

I am so envious of you having a Ren-Fest around you. I live in an area where there isn't much of that. I have sewn Ren garb, and sold it for good money. Even made the hats to go with them. I made myself the peasants dress with the lace up vest and gathered blouse to go underneath, and made a Juliet style hat with a veil to go with it. I wore it to work on Halloween about 5 years ago  and got lots of rave reviews. I have a civil war era day dress pattern that I am dying to make, just haven't found the appropriate fabric for it yet. I have to make a trip to Tallahassee or Panama City to get any kind of good fabrics. This little old two horse town isn't able to support a fabric shop  :o  ;D
