Yes Another Banner Contest

A couple months ago we had a thread called show me your best http://handmadeartistsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,1278.0.html the whole idea for this is that we want to create a banner and custom theme for our site. I've been in contact with Alundra our theme writer and she has been a busy girl lately and hasn't had time to get the banner done yet although she is still planning on doing it. So this is what we a need a banner that spans the top of the site that incorporates some of our members best work from the thread and what we are about.
Handmade Artists.
As far as the size goes maybe 150x1200 or something like that. It needs to say "Handmade Artists' Forum" with our tagline of "Supporting Handmade"
The new theme is still going to be a little while as we are waiting for the official release of the new SMF software and also for Alundra to get some time.
So post your entries here and I'll put up a poll in a couple weeks to vote for our favorite.

This is really a big contest because the banner is a key feature for the developing our brand for our site. Whatever banner we choose though may change so don't get upset if it gets switched after some time.

I hope to get some real participation in the contest because I have a Huge Secret that will be announced in the coming weeks (Maybe a Month or Two) that I'm very excited about and I think everyone will like a lot.

Anyway stay tuned and by the time we put this up for a poll I will have a prize figured out.

I think a Handmade Artists' Forum banner that features the HAF shops is a wonderful idea. It not only advertises the Forum, but also the people who ARE the Forum.

There should definitely be a certain branding involved that could easily be recognize as HAF, but switching in and out the different artists works on the banner could be a wonderful way to include everyone in the advertising and also a wonderful way to show the world the kind of talent that resides here.

... and I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about as far as the work involved in something like that, so please take that into account!

Where are you at Seedlings this is up your alley and yes the secret is going to be really cool. I just have a lot of work to get this secret going so any help with this banner will be huge.

I worked with the photos that people had already posted in the 'show me your best' thread just in case there were rights/permissions issues. I have another idea I'm going to work up too -- so hard to get all the photos in that I wanted to so please do not feel bad if I didn't get yours -- was trying to get some samples of different colors, shapes, and what folks do.

Wow that's pretty cool can't wait to see what else you come up with. One thing though my little critique no matter How Much I love Nárrína's work the hand front and center is a little creepy.

sorry Nárrína maybe if you move it to the side or back but front in center sort of freaks me out.

Sharon - the hand holding the steampunk piece is pretty cool - it's just that it draws the eye there - instead of wandering through the rest of the banner - maybe if it were a litte smaller and to one side - oh wait why am I giving you tips (lo) - I think I'll try one myself! hehe
