Purpleheart Bangle Bracelet
« on: September 12, 2009, 12:53:32 AM »

This bangle is in purpleheart, and I finally got the color right in the pictures. It is really hard to photograph. Teak oil and paste wax finish buffed.

you know the one color I have the hardest time getting good photos of is purple - doesn't matter what it is - glass, scarf, paper, purple anything seems to just not photo well!

You do some nice work!  There was a show I went to once and someone there had some nice looking boxes - but I felt like I was running my hand over sandpaper almost when I felt them - bumpy finish - dust or grit in it or something -
your bracelets and the pendants look so smooth - very nice!

Thanks, Kris. Yes, the finish is very important. This is where lots of woodworkers fail, they don't take the time to do the finish right. It really makes a huge difference.

Collette~Yes, the color is fantastic. It does darken with age some, to a beautiful purple-ish brown. Woodworking is time consuming, but satisfying in the long run.

Very satisfying to look at such a beautifully designed pice as well.  You have an awesome skill set in wood working!
