I got my AFA degree!!
« on: May 02, 2009, 03:26:09 PM »
Last night I finally graduated with my Associates of Fine Arts degree! I also managed to graduate with a whole pile of honours which is rather rare for that program. Now I need to start getting ready for my BFA degree which, if everything goes well, I will be starting next year.

Congrats!  Relax now, 1 down and 1 to go.  Have fun and are you taking summer classes?

Thank you!

Nope, I'm hoping to get a summer job to help recoup all that I spent this last year on supplies, or if not to try some art/craft shows for the same reason.

From what I see, Narrina, you have real talent.  Don't waste it!  When I grow up, I want to be an artist like you.  I dabble in drawing, but don't have half the talent you do.

Narrina - congrats!!!!

Jeanne - anyone can learn to draw!  seriously - I was told for years that I had no talent for it!  Well, I don't have a natural talent for drawing, but with the right teacher, I really believe anyone can learn to draw.  I had taken a couple of classes through continuing ed and another in my teens - all 3 said I had no talent - took drawing and painting classes in college - and became pretty good at it!  It's a matter of learning how to look at things and knowing different techniques.  It does require time!
