tetanus booster optional pendant
« on: May 01, 2009, 11:32:07 PM »

Pendant made with a pebble found in my creek [Fishing Creek in PA], wrapped with repurposed anealed steel wire and allowed to rust a bit.  No chemicals or glaze or finish of any kind.

Different, but I like it.  I had to laugh when I actually looked at the picture.  When I first logged on, I saw tetanus booster and thought, "more spam".  I was pleasantly surprised to see it was actually a creation.

What will keep it from rusting on the skin?

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS I think I've found my good twin... You used a FOUND stone... it called to you... and you re-used wire and allowed it to do what anealed steel DOES .... rust!

Let's hear it for reusing... reinventing... and re purposing ART!

Awww thanks man, for noticing!  [I am happy to say she is doing much better now that she has food! Funny how animals sometimes come into our lives when we least expect it.  I wish I could do more for all the neglected ones but at least for this one horse I can make a difference.]

Does it have a coating or will it give me my daily supply of iron (I end up fidgeting with my jewelry I'm wearing...)

Looks very cool though! Reminds me of things my grandpa had on his ranch in Colorado.

No coating because I wanted them all natural. But I have worn them and it doesn't seem to transfer. I would recommend a test -wear in a shirt you don't care for as much though if unsure.
