Jan, I worked in a shelter for a while - it was here in the UK, but they might very well bite your hand off should you offer to run workshops for the other ladies there.

Whatever you do, always believe that you *are* sane, you're doing the right thing. Where I grew up (northern Germany, sea-faring nation and all that), there was a dialect saying 'hol di fuchtig'. It kind of means 'hold on tight, stand up straight, look the future in the eye, keep fighting'.

Hol di fuchtig, Jan - thinking of you.

(((Hugz))) = you are stronger than you feel, I applaud your courage. Keep your focus on all the good things that you want out of life and don't pay any attention to the lies that have been fed to you

Thank you all for your support and kind words. I have a doctors appointment in Tallahassee on Monday, and I am wondering if he will know of a crisis center or shelter there. At least I will have public transportation to try and look for work. So I am thinking I will be around at least until Monday. After that, I'm not sure.

If you hadn't translated that - I would have thought it meant something else!  But, I like what it means so..
Hol di fuchtig, Jan!

having public transportation does help when you don't have a car!

Thanks, Matt. I know I am a somebody. When you hear the lies often enough, it tends to beat down self confidence to virtually non-existence. I haven't lost it all, but it's getting there.
