Slowly teaching myself crochet
« on: August 05, 2018, 04:21:37 PM »
Im slowly and I mean reeeaaallly slowly teaching myself to crochet. My mum can crochet and she is fantastic, my grandma was a knitter and I seemed to pick that up better and so I can knit.
The only problem is now...I went to my mum and said how do you do this that and the other in crochet.
.(got to grips with the basics) and thought she is showing me all wrong, all the chains stitches were different...I had only learnt the US way and not the UK ways hahaha
So now we sit together and both work in our own ways ....

This is my first fully made item...took me forever to do it too hahaha

That is just LOVELY!  It is really unusual to finds someone that knits AND crochets...  it's typically one or the other.  Good luck on this journey!

Looking good Debz, crochet is definitely a whole different thingthan knitting, but knowing how to do both is really great, as you can do so much different things!
