coupon code only works once?

I have a coupon code up and it was used successfully very early this morning by a customer.  I just got an email from another potential customer who said it showed as "invalid" for her.  I gave her a new code, and then went and tested the original one for myself -- sure enough, it shows as "invalid".

I checked on my coupon list and the code is listed as "active" and "used"; the "used by" column shows the id etc. for the customer who used it early this morning.

What can I do to make the original code work for multiple customers?
