Any Fish Keepers Here?
« on: October 28, 2015, 10:35:48 PM »
Wondering if there are any people here that are fish keepers. I have kept fish off and on for most of my life, and have been around it always. Was thinking of making cast coral and cast coral jewelry.

We have saltwater tank and freshwater pond fish.  I also used to collect shells & coral castoffs, and anything made with them.  Love the stuff!

I am guessing koi or goldfish outside...or are you adventurous?
What salt fish/inverts do you have?

The only saltwater we've got right now is the flagtail; my husband has to finish building the stand for the larger tank, and then one will go back to being corals and fish, and the other will be seahorses, or at least that's the plan.  We keep finding other projects, though.

The pond's got one koi and several shubunkins, plus one fancy goldfish and a bunch of frogs.  We really dug the pond as a water source for the bees, but you just can't have a pond without fish & frogs in it.

casting coral is tougher than I thought it would be, so many bubbles make it in. I think I need to pre-coat before molding to hopefully cut down on them.

Are you taking photos as you go?  This process would be so interesting to see if you posted here or blogged it.  I have no desire to actually take it up myself, but I love learning things.

Where do I go to sign up for the blog?
I have been putting off blogging until my website builder adds it, whenever that will be.
I am documenting a very slow moving diorama project I am working on here- http://www.googlelandusa.com/glu-a-diorama-project.html
