Happy Frog Jumping Day

Frogs? Little hopping green critters that will make you squeal or smile!

Frog Jumping Day can be traced back to Missouri author Mark Twain, and his first short story, “Jim Smiley and His Jumping Frog,” also known as “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County and “The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras County.”

In honor of our green hopping friends, I present to you some amazing works of handmade art inspired by frogs on HandmadeArtists!

If you have never seen quilling up close and personal, you are in for a treat!  Strips of colorful papers, wound around and shaped to create amazing pictures.  Quilling by Sandra White is one example of an expert at the craft.  Not into cuddly green hoppers?  Not a problem as her shop is loaded with amazing works of quilled art!

Loretta Clark has hand cast each of these darlings in her own mold before firing and hand painting them for a ton of froggy personality!  These little pot sitters will surely brighten up any planter and bring a smile to anyone’s face when they spot them peaking out from under the leaves.
