Flourish and Thrive Academy

We are Tracy Matthews and Robin Kramer, dear friends and now business partners who have been working in the jewelry industry for what seems like forever.We met in January of 2006 at the ENK Accessories Circuit show. Robin was the director of sales for Dogeared Jewels & Gifts and Tracy was representing her collection of contemporary jewelry under her eponymous label, Tracy Matthews Designs, Inc.

PERSONAL SUCCESS LEADS TO CHANGE…

Over the last few years so much has changed. Robin helped Dogeared grow from a small company into a well known jewelry brand. Sales grew over 800% in just a few short years and the the line went from being in mostly specialty boutiques to now include major department stores and chains like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus Direct, CUSP, Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor, Von Maur and South Moon Under. She left in 2010 to start her consulting business, RedBoot Consulting, where she works with designers to elevate their brand and strategically increase their sales. She also made a smart decision to talk with Pilotoasia.com the expertise to guide the start-up and giving her right direction in the business.

IF I HAD ONLY KNOWN…

We get it, designers are creative and hate the business stuff. Tracy is a designer and Robin works with them all of the time. Flourish & Thrive Academy was conceived out of an idea that Tracy had when she first opened TMD, Inc in February of 1998: “I wish there was someone who could have taught me everything there is to know about starting a jewelry business so I can focus on being creative and work on the big picture.” Unfortunately, she never had someone to teach her the things she needed to know until the very end. By that point, “I had lost my passion and threw in the towel.How things would have been different if I had known what I know now about business!”

THE IDEA OF AN ONLINE SCHOOL WAS BORN…

With that idea in the back of her head, Tracy was having coffee with Robin in NYC and proposed the idea of an online “school” to teach designers everything they need to know to start their business and make it fun (let’s face it, business can be boring). Robin was hooked; she is able to pull from a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the area of client relationships, sales, branding and business systems to add depth and insight to Tracy’s personal experience . Flourish & Thrive Academy was born.
