Featured Artist – The Chain Maille Lady

I think chainmaille is so cool – especially when it’s made as beautifully as Chain, creator of The Chain Maille Lady makes it.  I’ve tried this technique, and I’ll tell ya, I not only almost threw my pliers across the room, there was a string of words coming out of my mouth for 2+ hours and I only managed to get a whole 1″ done of the simplest of chains.  So, I truly admire anyone that can produce chainmaille and especially somebody like Chain who makes pieces from sterling silver, anodized aluminum, jewelers brass,  and other metals, along with a variety of crystals,  and does it so well.  I had a hard time picking pictures for this post, as she has so many neat creations in her shops.   When looking at the enlarged pictures, if those little rings aren’t closed up nice and tight, they look like they have huge gaps in them, but none of that any of the pieces I looked at in this shop!  I probably haven’t seen all the chainmaille out there, but I think Chain comes up some very nice and unique designs with her added crystals, like the Crystal Spine of the Centipede bracelet, or the Topaz and Copper Japanese 8 in 2 Crystal Chainmaille Bracelet in Sterling Silver.  Chain also has some nifty Celtic Stars, and even sells kits and instructions so you can make your own chainmaille creation.

So, if you are into chainmaille this is definitely one ladie’s shop to go visit.
