Featured Artist – Christil Creations

 

Many years ago, I fell in love with rocks and I became a rock hound.  I was an amateur multimedia artist and I also wanted to make jewelry for most of my life. 

I dabbled with bead work and wished I had the knowledge to do more.  While living in Rapid City, S.D  I worked at a Black Hills Gold factory, where I learned to spot weld jewelry.  That wet my appetite and I began to teach myself thru books and eventually with online articles and free tutorials. 

Approximately three years ago I joined a local gem & mineral society and the world of lapidary work opened up for me.  I then put the two skills of wire wrapping and lapidary work together to create wearable art, and it became my passion.  Finally, I decided that I wanted to make it into a business and Christil Creations was born.  Who knows where the journey will take me from here?
