Featured Artist Among The Ruins
I am a happy housewife to a wonderful man for 33 years. We have a daughter who is 22 years old. I’ve been a musician for most of my life. I am a semi-professional violinist and pianist. I usually play for enjoyment, but I also play the occasional paying gig.
My entire family is very musically and artistically inclined, but for the most part, I only looked on longingly at the artists in the family.
Now that has all changed! My sister introduced me to the world of “altered art”. I saw the beautiful mixed media works all over the internet and had to try my hand at that. I made an altered book for a friend who was going off to sea with the Navy. I found it to be the most fulfilling weeks I had ever spent, making that book! Then I discovered Steampunk and it was all over!
I love to take something old, broken, tossed aside and forgotten, and making it into something beautiful. I love to search “among the ruins” in antique shops, thrift stores, garage sales, my friends’ throw-aways, any place where I might find some diamond in the rough to take home and polish up for a whole new life.
Jewelry design has become my passion. I love learning new things and since this is all new to me, I am on cloud nine!

What a talent! I love to drool over her creations!
Artistry is definitely a gift that Kim has. Her designs are creative and spendid. I enjoy seeing what you create. It makes my mind spin in an entirely different direction from my beading. Keep designing.
